LORENZO Masculine | laurel | Italian |
AMADEO Unisex | love of God | Italian |
I Numeral | the first | English |
◖BIRTH NAME◗ Lorenzo Vittorio Emanuele Amadeo di Savoia. ◖NICKNAME◗ Most of his friends call him Enzo, even if his parents would rather not see it happening as such a nickname isn't suitable for a crown prince in their opinion ― but he, too, prefers Enzo. It's only a nickname for friends and family, though, whereas most people refer to him as simply Your Highness. ◖ALIAS◗ None. Unless Your Highness can be seen as one. He doesn't feel that strong of a connection to it, at least. ◖BIRTH DATE◗ 28th November. ◖AGE◗ 25 years old. ◖ZODIAC◗ Sagittarius. ◖OCCUPATION◗ He's the crown prince to the Italian throne of the Savoia family, which would probably be more accurately be described as the duke of the independent duchy, but his family has high opinions of themselves. ◖RESIDENCE◗ Palazzo Reale di Torino in Torino, Savoia, Italy. ◖ALIGNMENT◗ His family and his country. ◖BIRTHPLACE◗ Torino, Italy. |
◖RACE◗ Human. ◖ABILITIES◗ He holds plenty of abilities, both natural and taught ― he has to have a great repertoire in his position in life. ◖HEIGHT◗ 1,83. ◖BODY TYPE◗ Muscular, broad-shouldered, fit, well-defined. ◖EYES◗ A deep, dark brown. ◖HAIR◗ Dark brown, so much that it can look black. He keeps it slightly long at all times. ◖COMPLEXION◗ Warm, olive-brown hue. ◖TATTOOS◗ None. ◖SCARS◗ He has some, mainly from sword fighting and being a rather wild child, something he has yet to outgrow, but nothing major. He is kept rather safe. ◖HANDEDNESS◗ Right-handed, though he wields a sword quite well with both hands. ◖SEXUALITY◗ To him, there's really no question, sexuality is heterosexuality ― he likes women, just like every man. ◖RELATIONSHIP STATUS◗ Engaged to a lovely Austrian princess. |
◖LIKES◗ He loves being outdoors, whether it's on foot, on a horseback, or on the deck of a ship, the latter being his utmost favourite. He loves the vast sea, the salty breeze, the freedom he gets, even if he has yet to make it far, as his voyages are restricted, even if he tries not to dwell to much on it. He loves nature in general, so if he's not out on the ocean, you can probably find him in his favourite tree with a book, near the lake, fishing, hunting, relaxing. Animals are great as well, horses, dogs, cats, you name it. He loves being physically active as well, so he spends quite some time training, it often being sword fighting or fencing, though he does enjoy an occasional wrestle match, even if it's not suitable for him. If he has to stay indoors and not simply stare out the window, he does enjoy the more diplomatic side of his birth right, politics, books, and internal as well as foreign affairs, but most believe that he finds no interest in such ordeals. He enjoys speaking with his people, he loves being social with whoever, no matter their rank, some of his best friends are the workers in the stables. It's the simple things in life and most deem him to be simple, even in mind, but he's incredibly sharp; he just doesn't boast about it. ◖DISLIKES◗ Even if he is rather intelligent, he's not too fond of these formal tasks, not because he doesn't find them interesting, but because he sees them as restrictions. He has no choice, even if he didn't like them, he simply has to do it. He can take orders, but he doesn't do well with them in certain situations. While he loves sociable events, he cares little for people sucking up to him and his family, which unfortunately counts most upper class people. Empty talk and long meetings are definitely not a favourite either, he doesn't necessarily have a short attention span, he just prefers to cut directly to the point. ◖FACECLAIM◗ Santiago Cabrera. |

ROYALTY Born for the crown, longing for the sea. ___________________________________________ Lorenzo Amadeo I was born as the first son to the royal rulers of Italy, Maria and Umberto. As the firstborn, his destiny was already chosen even before his birth: He was going to inherit the throne from his father and continue his legacy. Because of this, his childhood was very focused on exactly that. He had to be brought up to be king, nothing less could do it. While he got almost everything he wanted, he still had to work for it to learn; everything from manners to dancing, mathematics and linguistics to law and politics, horseback-riding to fencing, he had to learn it all, preferably as quickly as possible. His parents had high hopes for the young boy and the pressure was immediate and constant. Luckily enough, he was a curious child and learning brought him excitement from a very early point. He was not only born and raised to be a king, he seemed to have a natural instinct when it came to the royal duties. He learnt what he had to with strict rules and guidelines, but in that process, he found that there was so much more outside of the castle walls that he had to explore. Dreams are hard to stop and when the dream of the outside was first planted in Lorenzo's head, it never left. As soon as he was old enough to leave, he would go outside. Sometimes just to run around and experience nature, see how far he could go, sometimes he would use the excuse of going out to ride, going out to exercise, even if it was all play to him. When he first discovered water, it was a lake close to the castle. Of course, he had to learn how to swim, but his eagerness made him learn at an incredible speed. As soon as he could swim, he was impossible to get out of the water and this love only grew. His parents would call it worse, but to him it only grew better and when he first saw the ocean, he knew that he had fallen in love and doubted that he would ever find anything like that. The view of the ocean gave him a sense of freedom that he had never felt; and that was when he really realised how constrained he had been all those years. He had choices, but only few, since all the wrong choices had been taken from him even before he could consider them. Suddenly, everything he had ever learnt and enjoyed became a duty. They had always been duties and a part of a larger plan, but to him it had all been fun and games, a way to satisfy his own curiosity on the world, but these duties were meant to keep him grounded to one place. Yes, he could travel, but he would always have to return and that thought was not as pleasing to him as his parents wanted it to be. Still, Lorenzo knew the importance of duties, the importance of his birth and the legacy that had been put unwillingly on his shoulders. If he wanted his freedom, he had to at least pretend to want to become king. The classes and duties continued, but every moment he had, he would venture outside. Here, he would learn what he thought to be important. His parents even agreed for him to get maritime knowledge, since it couldn't hurt. Sailing wasn't out of the question and they did have ships, so it could as well be good knowledge to have when it came to diplomacy and trade. He would prefer the sea, the stables, the open fields to the libraries, the throne room, even the ballroom where he would enjoy parties and dances, something which he too valued. The sociable part of being the crown prince was definitely something that he enjoyed as well, even if he didn't only enjoy the company of the nobles, but just as much the stable boys that he had known and played with his entire life. If he could get away with it, he would wear the same, old, worn clothes at all times, it was simply more practical than the gold-woven, hand-coloured, tailored outfits that his mother chose for him. He wanted to be a king of the people, a king of the sea, a wanderer, an explorer, someone who could enjoy life and find balance in both that and duties. When his parents announced that he was to be engaged, Lorenzo was not necessarily thrilled. He knew that it was coming, it was inevitable, especially at his age, it was only a question of time, sooner than later. He was in many was looking forward to meeting her, but marriage also meant limitations. It was only natural that a wife would keep him and ensure that he wouldn't venture out onto the sea, something that he had hoped he could do much more of before marrying. He had been travelling a lot, but his thirst for adventure was far from satisfied. Even if he honoured his parents and their decisions, he would have hoped that they could have waited a bit, knowing well that there was no time to wait. Marriage was not just ensuring the family legacy and bloodline, it was alliances and peace, diplomacy and connections that he had to maintain in the future by marrying a foreign princess. The only, yet huge problem was now that he would have to act like this was actually something he wanted, not the marriage, but the throne, the crown, the sceptre, and the power that they carried with them. His family knew very well that he would choose differently if he actually had a choice, but now he had to convince someone that he actually wanted this life, something he wasn't sure that he could ever do even if he wanted to. |
○ S O C I A B L E
adj. | so·cia·ble Inclined to seek or enjoy companionship, marked by or conducive to friendliness or pleasant social relations. Lorenzo enjoys being around people. It is something that brings him joy. While he can enjoy solitude and an occasional break from sociable events, it is what fuels him in the end. He feels refreshed around others and his instantly likeable character immediately draws other to him ― though his mere status has something to do with it as well. He doesn't have to be the centre of attention, even if it happens more often than not, he simply wants to be around the buzzing of conversation, the sound of laughter, and the closeness of others. It comes natural to him, he has always been like this, and many would deem this to make him the perfect ruler, but he simply sees himself as a friendly guy. He feels that he improves by the company of others, getting to know as many people as possible, preferably also as different as possible. |
○ A D V E N T U R O U S
adj. | ad·ven·tur·ous Disposed to seek adventure or to cope with the new and unknown. Lorenzo has always had a drive for the unknown. What started out as a small curiosity that made him seek out the knowledge of his future duties, but his attention quickly shifted. He always wants to go that extra step to see what's around the corner, what's behind the door, whatever might be hiding and therefore worth exploring. The great unknown is what drives him even if the final choice will never be entirely his own. His adventurous spirit is bold and daring, but risky and dangerous at times as the promise of adventure can prompt him to make choices that he should think twice about before making. To him, though, it's a gift as it has led him to meet new people, discover hidden passages, and learn more about himself: Adventure runs through him and he will forever seek it out. |
○ D E C I S I V E
adj. | de·ci·sive Having the power or quality of deciding, resolute, determined. When Lorenzo makes up his mind, it's made up ― and that happens quickly. He's rather fast at making decisions and while his intelligence and perception of the world often lead him to make some great decisions, he has definitely already made some that he should have stopped to think about. When he sets a goal, he simply has to reach it no matter what. Even if he's presented with multiple options, he's amazing at following his gut and sticking with it. He's not someone who regrets or doubts his own actions, but he should start making a habit out of stopping once in a while to actually consider every option carefully, since he will have to do that when he takes over the throne. For now, those are worries of the future though. |
○ P E R C E P T I V E
adj. | per·cep·tive Able to sense slight impressions or differences. While he might be too quick to decide for his own good, Lorenzo is a rather intelligent man. One of his strongpoints is his perceptiveness, though; he's quick at picking up things, even the smallest of hints and differences in expressions, whether it's facial expressions, manners of speaking, body language, or simple facts that change either throughout a conversation or during a longer period of time. He is difficult to lie to, not only because he looks like someone who will embrace you even in your embarassment or faults, but because he will probably sense the lie. To him, it feels mostly like a strong gut feeling that he tends to follow, it's quicker than his head and he often hits the mark, so why not believe in his own instinct, when it's so strong? |
